HEYYOOOOOO!!! Happy Monday to all my fellow baseball fans. Furn Talk, Vol. 4. Is coming your way RIGGGGGGHHHHHTTTTT NOW!

There is a lot to talk about but first we will talk about Non-Yankee News. As usual, we will talk about the Mets first. The Mets get Marcus Stroman for two pitching prospects their No.4 and No.6. All I can say isWhy? The Mets just confirmed that one of their Starting Pitchers is leaving by getting Stroman. I guess the Mets are kind of close in the Wild Card Race, but they have a below .500 record. So, it doesn’t make sense to get one of the most highly coveted Trade Pieces in this upcoming deadline. It just does not make sense. The Mets NEED prospects and young talent, because the older former Yankees that the Mets keep getting just stink (Todd Frazier, Cano, Hechavarria, etc.). So, they give up high prospects to get an older Pitcher in a contention race that they are barely a part of. The Mets have lost their minds.

Ok now onto the other irrelevant divisions. Trevor Bauer just solidifies himself as a complete psycho. If you didn’t see the video, Bauer gets so unlucky in the 5th inning and give up 7 runs in 4 and a third innings. Terry Francona, the Indians Manager, comes out to pull him out and Bauer throws the ball over 300 ft. over the wall in frustration. He is absolutely bonkers and there is no pitcher I want more at the deadline. He is an Annual Cy-Young Candidate and has playoff experience. He is a fierce competitor and an absolute psycho, and I think him and Kahnlewill have a field day with each other, check out my tweet on that. Their absurd personalities will mesh so well.

The Dodgers still are the only thing that matters in the West. The Giants might make a run at the Playoffs because they are hot right now, but they don’t have the talent to get even past the first round. This means they won’t trade Mad Bum, which kind of stinks for us. The NL Central is a joke, the NL East is a joke, the AL Central is a joke (The Twins are pretty good though, surprise of the year), the AL West race is heating up as they actually have decent teams trying to make a push towards October.

Now onto the Yankees. Lose Monday, Unbelievable Win Tuesday, Win Wednesday  against the Twins. The Game on Tuesday was the best Baseball contests I have ever seen since’17 where the Astros beat the Dodgers 13-12 in the World Series. Then we absolutely stunk against the Red Sox Thu, Fri and Sat. They made our starting pitching look like Batting Practice. All across the board. We win Sunday and German had a pretty decent outing 5.1 Innings 3 Earned Runs and save ourselves from the worst Yankee week of the entire season. But we really got exposed guys.

Starting Pitching is a problem for us. Every fan knows that. This really showed us that we need to make some moves at the Deadline. Bauer, Syndergaard, Minor, Boyd, Castillo. Cashman give us something, PLEASE!!! We need it really badly. I have full faith that Cashman will make the right moves to get this done.

Outlook for the week. Off Day Today and Thursday. D-Backs Tues and Wed. Red Sox at home Fri, Sat. 2 games, and Sunday. We need a sweep of the D-Backs, and we need to beat the Sox to even up the season series and we won’t play them until September. We need these wins badly.

See you all next week! Go Yankees!!!

2021 Yankees Pitching Preview

HEYYYYOOOOOOOO!!! Welcome back to Furn Talk. We are back for 2021 providing my hot takes for MLB and for our beloved New York Yankees. There is so much to talk about with Opening Day only 1 week away! So exciting. The Offseason: This offseason the Yankees Re-Signed DJ LeMahieu (6 yrs. $90M, we will talk about him in the next article), Signed Corey Kluber (1yr. $11M), and traded for Jameson Taillon, and signed Justin Wilson and Darren O’Day. Clearly Brian Cashman and the rest of the Yankees front office wanted to upgrade the rotation and did just that. Unfortunately, we lost Masahiro Tanaka this offseason, as he goes back to Japan. He was a favorite amongst Yankee Fans and will be dearly missed. A great Postseason pitcher and a great clubhouse presence, Tanaka’s contributions to the Yankees will not be forgotten. The Rotation: Keeping on the Pitching Staff, the Yankees are entering their last week of Spring Training. Here is a potential Opening Day Rotation for the Yankees: Starti...

Back to the Drawing Board.... Again.....

HEYYYYOOOOOOOO!!! Sorry for the abnormally long break, but welcome back to Furn Talk Volume 7. This is going to be my analysis on the postseason and potential moves during the offseason for both the Yankees and other MLB teams. So, unless you live under a rock, you know that the Yankees once again did not make it to the world series. If I am being honest, we did not deserve it. To the Yankees credit we steamrolled the Minnesota Twins in an ALDS series that looked like we were playing a minor league team. Houston moves on as everyone expects. On the National League Side the Dodgers are out again on a hot Washington Nationals team, and the Braves won against the Cardinals in 5 games. Then the CS comes about. The Red- Hot Nations and their stellar Starting Pitching Rotation, which we will get into later, got through the lackluster Cardinals. But on to the more important series. The Yankees were not the team of the Regular Season. They were stranding runners, striking out in big situ...

Furn Talk Vol. 6  12up image @lfurns11 Twitter @lfurneri11 instagram HEEEYYYYYOOOOOO!!!!! It is Volume 6 of Furn Talk. Was on vacation last week so I couldn’t get around to it. But this week we are back with some awesome MLB talk! So let’s jump right in!! In other MLB news the Cubbies outlasted the Buccos in the Little League Classic Sunday Night which was cool to see. Love to have in the interaction with MLB players and the youth. It’s great for the game. The NL East Divisional Race is heating up and it should be awesome to see how it plays out. The Indians are back climbing the leaderboards as they have made quite a comeback led by Fransisco Lindor and Some awesome Starting Pitching. But the Twins will still remain on top.  Chicago Tribune Image Amidst the high quality talent in the AL East, the Yankees are still the best Team in baseball. Talent and Power up and down the lineup. Now let’s dive into it. The Yankees in 2 weeks swept the O’s twice and split ag...
