HEYYYOOOOO! Happy Monday Ladies and Gentlemen! This is Furn Talk Volume 3, here on this Monday Morning. But for us Yankees fans we are smiling ear to ear. More to come later.

In this week’s edition of Non-Yankee news, the NL East is an absolute disaster. The Mets lose on a pop-up walk off, ala Luis Castillo. Nothing new here, just another Mets season derailing right in front of our eyes. The entire division is an absolute joke aside from the Braves and Nationals (who would be destroyed if they played in any good division). This division has been lacking talent on both sides of the ball. In reality the only divisions worth even paying attention to are the Dodgers (Nobody else in the NL West matters), the AL West, and the AL East. I would bet a lot of money that the champion this year will come out of one of those divisions and the Dodgers. The NL Central has consistently underperforming teams and are almost as bad as the AL Central.

Now back to the only thing that really matters, the Bronx Bombers themselves. What a week. Being at the game on Monday broke my heart. But then I picked myself back up knowing that the Yankees and Cashman just wanted to make the division race close and boost attendance by dropping the game on Monday. Don’t worry folks it is all part of the plan. Got a great win On Tuesday and took the series from the Rays in the Double Header on Thursday, again all part of the plan.

And then easily one of the best Yankee Ejections of all time happened on Thursday, where a rookie umpire was blinder than an old bat and made some very questionable calls. Gardner is losing his mind hitting his bat on the roof of the dugout (after missing his therapy session this week), Hicks could not stop laughing. While all of this is happening, Boone goes up to the umpire saying, “My guys are F***ing Savages in that box” among many other aggravated phrases. I mean what a line. It perfectly describes this team and our grit and toughness, in fact I picked up a T-Shirt for myself embodying Boone’s quote. Then we win both games on Thursday and win Friday and Saturday in the blistering heat. With a win Streak of five it looked like we may never lose again.

However, despite the momentum, we lost a tough one on Sunday which broke our win streak. Paxton gave up 7 Earned Runs in 3.1 innings. But that’s ok as we went 5-2 on the week and further mark our spot as the leader in the Division.

We have a very important week coming up. We are playing the AL Central Leading Twins tonight
at 8:10 Sabathia vs. Perez. They have similar ERAs, so it could be a good matchup. But we have to watch out for Nelson Cruz as he rakes off of Lefties like Sabathia.

After the three-game set in Minnesota, we fly to Fenway and look to rout the Red Sox as they are coming off a week where they lost a series to the Orioles. And will be playing the dangerous Tampa Bay Rays at 57-45, Mon-Wed. The Sox have lost 5 games in 9 matchups with the Rays. This should be a really interesting series, as it will affect the Division race later down the line in the season.

Finally, Mariano and Mussina got inducted into the hall this weekend and had a moving speech. Find some of those videos on YouTube. Love to see that. Definitely going to be excited when Jeter gets in this time next year!

Folks Have a Spectacular Week and GO YANKEES!!! Definitely going to be a good week to watch our boys!

2021 Yankees Pitching Preview

HEYYYYOOOOOOOO!!! Welcome back to Furn Talk. We are back for 2021 providing my hot takes for MLB and for our beloved New York Yankees. There is so much to talk about with Opening Day only 1 week away! So exciting. The Offseason: This offseason the Yankees Re-Signed DJ LeMahieu (6 yrs. $90M, we will talk about him in the next article), Signed Corey Kluber (1yr. $11M), and traded for Jameson Taillon, and signed Justin Wilson and Darren O’Day. Clearly Brian Cashman and the rest of the Yankees front office wanted to upgrade the rotation and did just that. Unfortunately, we lost Masahiro Tanaka this offseason, as he goes back to Japan. He was a favorite amongst Yankee Fans and will be dearly missed. A great Postseason pitcher and a great clubhouse presence, Tanaka’s contributions to the Yankees will not be forgotten. The Rotation: Keeping on the Pitching Staff, the Yankees are entering their last week of Spring Training. Here is a potential Opening Day Rotation for the Yankees: Starti...

Furn Talk Vol.5 @lfurns11 Twitter @lfurneri11 Instagram HEEEYYYYYOOOOOO!!! Happy Monday and welcome back to Furn Talk, a place to get away from the awful stresses of the world and talk Yankees and Baseball! Gonna be a juicy one this week so many things to cover including the trade deadline. SOOOOO let's jump right in. Fox Sports Image Trade Deadline: Well this was a hard part of the week to swallow. After having a Starting Pitcher ERA of over 11. It seemed like a pretty apparent sign for Brian Cashman to get a solid Starting Pitcher at the deadline. But the asking price was too high for the Yankees. While it seemed to be looking alright, since the Dodgers, Astros, and Red Sox didn't make any moves, the Astros acquire Zack Greinke at the Deadline making easily the best Starting Rotation in the American League. The Astros now have Verlander, Greinke, Cole, and newly acquired Aaron Sanchez of the Blue Jays. 3 of those Names will finish Top-10 in AL Cy Young Voting. Grea...
